Things heat up in the Korean Peninsula…

This probably isn’t news to anyone who reads the news, but North and South Korea have been exchanging artillery fire on the west coast of the peninsula.  The North (no surprise here) claims the South provoked this exchange…the South says it was test-firing some batteries, but the rounds didn’t land in North Korean territory.  Sabre-rattling, I suppose, especially with regime change looming in North Korea, but that’s pretty expensive sabre-rattling.  The New York Times also has an interesting time line of events involving the Korean peninsula, which might be worth examining for a longer chronology of recent events…
